Spring Is For Sorting Yourself Out
Have you felt it? The shift to opening, ease, flourishing, smiling, stretching out and shaking off the shackles of winter?
It's been noticeable for me with a definite upswing in energy and general mood while the sun has been shining and the days warming... up here in Qld at least! I've also been jealously watching the dumps of snow on the southern slopes and wishing I could escape for a weekend of snowboarding!
Despite the climate being kinda confused, September marks a change of season with the equinox happening on the 23rd (which is why I chose the 20th as our date for the Yoga Big Day Out - there's still time to get your tix!) and the calendar sliding over to Spring today!
September and Spring are a great time to take a little seasonal reflection. Timing it now will help you have some clarity around how you'd like to end the year. Whatever your goals, there's still A THIRD of the the year to apply yourself to them and see what grows! Show up for yourself in September is a 30-day invitation to re- train your brain to recognise and reaffirm things that light you up so you can experience more peace and positivity every day.
Combining Manifesting and Gratitude by imagining that you’ve already achieved what you want and are experiencing being grateful for that helps bring your future alive in the present moment.
Practicing daily gratitude has been shown to increase psychological health, self-esteem and improve relationships.
The practice of paying attention is one of the first steps of mindfulness. So whether you decide to sit in meditation every day or simply practice bringing awareness to what you’re grateful for, what’s going right and what’s possible for the future you’re priming your brain for success.
Your brain is wired to recognise patterns so as your turn your mind to focussing n the good - you amplify your ability to see and experience it more and more.
Set yourself up for success by choosing just one thing a day to start with and work your way up from there - this is called habit- stacking and is a proven way to successfully change behaviour over time.
STEPS TO SHOWING UP FOR YOURSELF IN SEPTEMBER
1. You’ve made the commitment to be here already so you can tick this one off!
2. Pick a time of day to practice reflecting on what you’re grateful for. First thing in the morning or last thing at the end of the day work well - if you can connect it with another existing habit in your life, you’re more likely to remember to do it.
3. When you make your list also spend time FEELING what and how thankfulness, appreciation, gratitude are experienced in your body.
4. Complete the vision board for things you’d like to have, be, do, experience in your future.
5. Use these for your daily practice of future Manifesting Gratitude by imagining that you’ve already achieved these goals and now you’re happily and thankfully enjoying them.
6. Keep track of any other goals or you’d like to commit to this month choose a daily affirmation, or track and reflect on other aspects of your life. Energy flows where attention goes!
