  • Dr John Carr

    Osteopathy

John sees osteopathy as a form of manual healthcare relevant to a wide range of presentations, including back, neck and other musculoskeletal pain, as well as concerns such as headache and migraine, jaw discomfort, chronic pain, fatigue and burnout, stress and anxiety. He also warmly welcomes neurodiverse patients.

John uses a wide range of techniques such as massage and rhythmic joint mobilisation, and has a special interest in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (craniosacral therapy), which is often well suited to patients who may be sensitive or prefer a gentler treatment style. He values a whole-person approach to care and works with the body’s natural capacity for regulation and adaptation. John also supports patients with simple take-home exercises, mindfulness and breathing practices where appropriate.

Dr John Carr grew up in Canberra and originally studied history at the ANU, and in his first career worked in some of Canberra’s national cultural institutions including the National Museum of Australia and Old Parliament House. He then pursued a long-standing interest in holistic healthcare, initially through massage and other bodywork therapies, later completed an Advanced Diploma of Western Herbal Medicine, and finally was drawn to osteopathy and completed a Master of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Southern Cross University.

John is also passionate about sustainability, permaculture and social justice issues, and sees the osteopathic principles of balance and regeneration as directly relevant to the ecological themes of our time. In his spare time he loves being outdoors, cycling, swimming, bushwalking, kayaking or just out being in nature.

  • Dr Orla Teahan

    Holistic GP | Integrative Medicine

Dr Orla Teahan M.B. B.Ch. B.A.O. FRACGP qualified from Trinity College, Dublin in 1990.

In 1991 she moved to Australia with her Australian husband and son. After some traveling adventures and two more children she settled in Sydney where she completed her fellowship in General Practice and subsequently ran her own private practice in Newport for close to twenty years. Orla is particularly passionate about women’s health and improving mental health in families. Orla moved to Canberra with her family a few years ago and has had an enriching experience working in Aboriginal Health with a focus on mental health and trauma.

Orla’s philosophy is to combine the best of conventional Western Medicine with evidence based complimentary therapies to offer and achieve the best results for each and every individual patient.

Each one of us has our own story and life experience which makes our journey into wellness unique. It is not always the ‘typical’ or ‘standard’ approach that works for every patient and therefore combining several approaches has the potential to achieve the best results for the individual. The importance of a collaborative and supportive doctor/patient relationship is paramount to explore the layers and the history of the symptoms that can present themselves when we don’t feel well.

Orla is passionate about enabling and empowering people to be the best versions of themselves and to take control of their health and journey to wellness. Over the years Orla has found alternate therapies to help people cope in this stressful modern era which she combines with traditional western medicine. Some of these techniques include Meditation, Mindfulness training along with the Expressive Arts Therapies.

  • Wesley Smith

Acupuncture | Herbal Medicine | Meditation

Wes is the founder and director of Live Well, with nearly three decades of experience in acupuncture and holistic care.

He has a particular interest in the intersection between chronic stress, nervous system regulation and long-term health. Many of the people who seek Wes’s support describe feeling persistently wired, exhausted or overwhelmed — often after years of sustained pressure.

Contemporary research recognises that prolonged stress can influence multiple systems of the body, including sleep, immune function, energy regulation and inflammatory pathways. Wes’s clinical focus reflects this understanding, working at a deeper, whole-person level to support nervous system balance and resilience.

Acupuncture may support the body in accessing states of deep relaxation and restoration. In this more settled state, the nervous system can shift out of chronic stress responses and toward regulation. For many clients, this experience of nervous system settling becomes a foundational step in supporting overall wellbeing.

Wes works with people navigating burnout, persistent fatigue, stress-related symptoms and complex chronic conditions, including those involving immune and inflammatory components. His work forms part of a broader, whole-person approach to health, supporting regulation and resilience within each client’s unique context.

Originally drawn to health through his personal practice of yoga and meditation, Wes completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Acupuncture) at UTS in 1996, later undertaking further studies in herbal medicine and yoga teaching.

His consultations are calm, grounded and individually tailored. He is passionate about supporting people to reconnect with steadiness, resilience and their capacity for meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of clinical practice, Wes enjoys writing, education, meditation, surfing and spending time with his family.

    Kinesiology

Kate’s passion is to educate and empower each client to understand their mind, body, and Spirit and how these aspects are all connected. Her integrative approach to health is to explore and support the whole person. Kate is the creator of Holistic by Nature and was also on the expert panel of I Quit Sugar.

Through kinesiology, clients are guided through a process that uses gentle muscle monitoring techniques to explore stress patterns and areas that may benefit from support. This approach draws on concepts from Traditional Chinese Medicine and chakra-based systems, alongside an understanding of emotional and thought patterns. It offers an opportunity to reflect on how stress may be presenting in the body.

Using a gentle technique of muscle integrity testing, sessions aim to identify areas of stress and support balance. Kinesiology is not a massage. It is a non-invasive modality focused on awareness and supporting overall wellbeing.

Hi there, I am Tracy. I am a mum of 4 boys, multi-passionate, heart-led dreamer and Flower Essence Practitioner. I love supporting people to reconnect with themselves and what feels meaningful in their lives. My focus is connecting people back to nature and themselves through the use of flower essences.

Flower Essences are a gentle, subtle plant-based modality that many people use as part of their personal wellbeing practices. Now more than ever, I feel we need pathways that reconnect us back to nature and ourselves. Flowers have long held symbolic meaning across cultures, often representing growth, renewal and reflection.

Flower essences are traditionally used to support emotional awareness and personal growth. Many people choose to use them as part of a broader self-care practice. I have personally found them to be a source of calm and reflection in my own life, and they are something I also incorporate into my coaching and yoga teaching where appropriate.

  • Daniella Joy

    Reiki

Daniella is drawn to the intersection of spirituality and science. Years of exploring how the brain engages with experience, emotions and creativity — alongside a deep personal exploration of spiritual practices — led her to Reiki.

She feels honoured to offer Reiki sessions as a gentle, supportive space where you can slow down, relax and reconnect with yourself.

    What is Reiki?

Reiki is described as a form of energy-based practice that originated in Japan. Many people experience Reiki as calming and restorative. It is commonly used as a complementary wellbeing practice to support relaxation and self-reflection.

What can you expect during a Reiki session?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-near) practice. During a session, you rest comfortably while Daniella creates a quiet and supportive environment. Many people report feeling deeply relaxed, peaceful or reflective during and after a session, though each experience is individual.

Some people describe the experience using imagery — such as energy flowing like a river — to reflect how it feels for them personally. Experiences vary from person to person.

Daniella creates a welcoming space for you to pause, unwind and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels meaningful to you.

  • Carole Young

    Trauma and Chronic Pain Therapist
    Physiotherapist

Carole is an experienced physiotherapist with more than 35 years in occupational rehabilitation and workplace health. She was an early leader in the field of Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation (OHS&R) in Australia and has also worked extensively in sustainability consulting and education.

Over the course of her career, Carole developed a clinical interest in the interaction between physical injury, nervous system regulation and psychological stress responses. In 2016, she undertook further professional training in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches to expand her capacity to work with complex and persistent presentations.

Carole integrates physiotherapy with additional training in The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP), Associative Awareness Technique (AAT) and Somatic Experiencing. Her clinical work focuses on clients presenting with trauma-related symptoms, nervous system dysregulation and chronic pain conditions.

Carole’s approach reflects this biopsychosocial understanding, incorporating nervous system awareness and trauma-informed principles within the scope of physiotherapy practice.

Her work is particularly relevant for individuals seeking a structured, evidence-informed and trauma-aware perspective on longstanding pain or stress-related patterns.
