What Personal Season Are You In?
While there might be a seasonal shift to Spring this week, you may find yourself in a very different season of life.
Perhaps you’re experiencing physical or hormonal changes, particularly during perimenopause or menopause. Perhaps something is shifting in your career, your relationships, your family life, your sense of identity, or simply the way you understand yourself and what matters to you.
Or perhaps you can’t quite put your finger on what has changed. You just know that the way you used to move through life no longer seems to fit.
Our lives have seasons too.
These inner seasons, like the seasons of the natural world, can be understood as normal and changing phases of learning, action, reflection, transition and rest. There are times when we feel energised and ready to begin something new, and other times when life invites us to slow down, reflect, reassess or simply be.
Sometimes these shifts are chosen. Sometimes they arrive unexpectedly.
And sometimes we can find ourselves resisting what is happening, trying to push through when we are tired, or expecting ourselves to function as we did in a previous season.
Perhaps one of the invitations of paying attention to our personal season is simply to become curious.
What is happening for me right now?
What might I need?
What am I being invited to notice, explore or reconsider?
Rather than viewing every difficult season as something that needs to be fixed or overcome, we can sometimes approach it with greater compassion and curiosity.
There may be value in allowing ourselves some space to pause, reflect and reconnect with what is important.
We were never really designed to navigate every season alone
In many cultures and communities throughout history, navigating life's transitions happened within relationship – with elders, trusted mentors, spiritual guides, family and community.
There is something fundamentally human about wanting to be accompanied through periods of uncertainty and change.
To have someone alongside us.
Someone who can listen without judgement, offer another perspective, help us become more aware of our patterns and experiences, and provide a supportive space in which we can pause and reflect.
For some people, this is part of what therapy can offer.
As a somatic psychotherapist, I work with people in a way that recognises the relationship between psychological experiences, emotions and our embodied experience. This can involve becoming more aware of what we notice in ourselves, exploring patterns that may be affecting our lives, and developing a greater understanding of our responses and needs.
My approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, with the work shaped around the individual person, their circumstances and what they would like to explore.
So, what season are you in?
🌱 Spring
Are you in a season of beginnings?
Perhaps you have new ideas, new energy or a desire to explore something different. You may be starting a new venture, relationship, career direction or chapter of your life.
Spring can be a time of possibility, curiosity and experimentation.
☀️ Summer
Are you experiencing a period of expansion or flourishing?
Perhaps some of the things you have been working towards are beginning to take shape. You may feel more connected to yourself, your relationships or your sense of purpose.
Summer can be a time of expression, connection, enjoyment and allowing yourself to experience what is already present.
🍂 Autumn
Are you in a season of slowing down?
Perhaps circumstances have encouraged you to draw your resources inward. You may be reflecting on what has happened, reviewing what is working for you and considering what you want to carry forward.
Autumn can be a season of discernment – of letting go of what no longer fits and making space for reflection and contemplation.
❄️ Winter
Are you in a season of endings, transition or retreat?
Perhaps something has come to an end, or you are moving through a period where you don't quite know what comes next.
You may be craving solitude, rest or time away from the noise of everyday life.
Winter can also be that strange in-between place where you are no longer quite here, but you're not quite there yet.
And that can be an uncomfortable place to inhabit.
There is no right or wrong season.
And you don't necessarily have to rush towards Spring.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is recognise where we are, rather than continually trying to be somewhere else.
If you're looking for support in the season you're in
It's sometimes hard for me to describe exactly what I do, because I work with a diverse range of people who bring very different experiences, circumstances and questions into the therapy room.
Therapy isn't about following a predetermined pathway or trying to turn every difficult experience into a particular outcome.
Instead, I offer a supportive, strengths-based and trauma-informed space where we can explore what is happening for you, at your own pace.
Somatic psychotherapy can include paying attention to the ways thoughts, emotions and experiences are reflected in our embodied experience, alongside talking and reflection.
For some people, this may involve exploring patterns in relationships, transitions, identity, stress, grief, overwhelm or other experiences that are affecting their sense of wellbeing.
The work will look different for every person.
And perhaps, rather than asking "How do I get back to who I was?", the more useful question might sometimes be:
"What is this season asking me to notice about who I am now?"
Reflections from people I've worked with
People who have worked with me have described their experiences in different ways:
“I am in a really great place at the moment. I am so, so grateful for all the work we've done together to bring me to a more centred and adaptable place.”
“I have learned through Ramone how to recognise what activates me and to be able to work through how I feel mentally and physically when certain emotions happen.”
“Ramone has helped unlock some parts of me I didn't even know existed. The wisdom, tenderness and empathetic way she guides me is such a gift.”
These reflections offer a glimpse into how some people have experienced our work together, but everyone's experience of therapy is individual and outcomes will vary.
A Seasonal Spring Special

Sometimes it can be enough to simply know:
Something is changing, and I'd like some space to understand it.
If that resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
Perhaps Spring isn't about becoming someone new.
Perhaps it's about creating enough space to notice what is already beginning to emerge.
